Adrian Traian Plesca

Adrian Plesca was born in Iasi, Romania, on April 16, 1972. He graduated from the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi in 1995 (M.Sc. in 1996) and he received the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in 2001. Since 1996 he has been devoted to education and research at the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, where, at present, he is a professor and PhD supervisor with the Power Engineering Department, within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Energetics and Applied Informatics. From 2003 to 2005 he has been granted with a postdoctoral fellowship type Marie Curie Industry Host Fellowship, within FP5, Green Power Solutions, Genoa, Italy. His special fields of interest included power electrical equipment, power semiconductor devices protection, switching techniques and 3D modeling and simulation of the electrical equipment. Prof. Plesca has a remarkable scientific and educational experience being the author or joint author of 9 books, and over 140 papers in the area of electrical apparatus and modelling and simulation of electrical devices, published in national and international journals and conference proceedings. Also, he has been granted with 28 patents. Prof. Plesca has a valuable project management experience in over 25 research grants sponsored by research organizations and research programs with partners from industry (an European Reintegration Grant as main researcher).
He received 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals at different International Exhibition of Inventions and he was awarded with Knight of the International Order of Merit of the Inventors. He is member of the Editorial Board of International Review on Modelling and Simulations scientific journal. More, prof. Plesca is member of Fuse Club, Marie Curie Fellows Association, Marie Curie Alumni Association, Inventor’s Association from Romania affiliated to International Federation of Inventor’s Association (IFIA) and Technical Committee TC 32/SC 32B (Low-voltage fuses) of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
