Ugochukwu Patrick Okoye is a Research Scientist at the Instituto de Energías Renovables-UNAM Mexico. Dr. Okoye obtained both masters and doctorate degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne,United Kingdom and the University of Science Malaysia, respectively. After the Ph.D. studies, Patrick worked at the People’s Republic of China as a postdoctoral fellow at the Shenyang University of Technology, China. He is an associate member of the Institutionof Chemical Engineers (AI ChemE), United Kingdom. Patrick is interested in research that will result in a sustainablesolution to the present energy and environmental challenges. His main research focus is on hierarchical porousmaterials synthesis for catalysis, biodiesel production, fine chemical derivatives from platform molecules, and liquid-phase adsorption processes. Patrick has several refereed articles in high impact factor ISI-indexed journals and about90% of these publications are in Q1 ranked journals. Currently, He is a volunteer reviewer for several reputable Journals.

Area of Interests

Porous materials synthesis, environmental catalysis, biofuels from residual biomass (HTL & CO-HTL), wastewater treatment, and adsorption engineering. Also, I have a keen interest in process intensification, process design, and empirical data modeling.
